Religious Education

During our RE lessons, we strive to provide the children with a sound knowledge of the following six religions: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism and Buddhism with a particular focus given to Christianity and Islam due to the higher amount of pupils from these faith groups within the Lambeth borough.

The children learn about the beliefs and values of each religion, and the school as a whole is involved in celebrating different religious festivals throughout the year.

Our belief at Walnut Tree Walk is that the greater the knowledge that our children have of religions, the better equipped they are to understand and value difference within their own community.

Learning about different religions is a form of respect and also allows children to showcase their own beliefs and identify with what matters to them in these lessons.

Walnut Tree Walk uses the Lambeth approved Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education.

Within its statutory responsibilities, SACRE focuses on supporting and enhancing the provision of high-quality RE within Lambeth schools where the Agreed Syllabus is in use.
